Shell Hires Stena Drilling State Of The Art Drill Ship (IceMax) for it's 2015 Exploration off Nova Scotia Shell , Conaco Phillips and Suncor join forces to explore Canada's East Coast which is part of billions of exploration dollars slated for Eastern Canada. Along with this project (BP) British petroleum is seriously looking at their options in the area as well. Statoil has an interest off Newfoundland with a marginal stake with a great outlook for future exploration along with the Hebron project under way off NFLD. Statoil Contracts Seadrill West Hercules to Drill Flemish Pass Basin off Newfoundland The work will be focused in the Flemish Pass Basin, about 500 kilometres northeast of St. John’s. Statoil has three oil finds in the basin — at the Bay du Nord, Harpoon and Mizzen sites. In 2013, Bay du Nord was revealed as the company’s biggest oil discovery outside Norway and the world’s largest conventional oil discovery of the year by volume, with an initial estimate of 300 million to 600 million barrels recoverable. The West Hercules is owned by Seadrill, a sister rig to the West Aquarius, and has accommodations for 180 people. It has most recently been used for well work in Norway.

while on a World Trade Centre trade show in QATAR. During his trip
he was assisted with the expertise of Simone Jucker Executive

Abdul Kader El-Refaei of (AIPC) Arabian International Petroleum
Corp. Dr. Al-Marri was also Vice Chairman & Managing Director-Qatar
Petroleum, Chairman, Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO)- Chairman,
Qatar Liquefied Natural Gas Company (QatarGas)- Chairman, Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company (RasGas) Chairman &
Founder-Qatar Fuel Additives Company (QAFAC). As former
vice-chairman and managing director of Qatar Petroleum and chairman
of Qatar Gas and Ras Gas LNG companies, he presided over $15 billion
US worth of petroleum investments in his home country of Qatar,
located on the west shore of the Persian Gulf. “Canadian companies
should have a presence in the Middle East,” he admonishes. “There
are a lot of huge projects in upstream, downstream, LNG and

normally provide medicals to potential employee's prior to
employment. The majority of land drilling contractors are located

The 20 day course of instruction in Pre Employment Floorman (Roughneck) / Drillers Helper Training will consist of drilling programs, hands-on rig training, and industry safety programs. Life skills and job readiness will also be included during the program.

The 10 day program will include professional training using the following curriculum:
This training sequence clearly explains drilling in non-technical terms. Drilling rigs consist of many different parts and components, and rig personnel perform a wide variety of tasks. Component parts and crew functions are explained in simple terms; with graphic support, and demonstrated, where practical. The role each part/function plays in the overall process is emphasized, along with potential hazards and preliminary safety orientation. Using quality benchmarks developed in consultation with operators, drilling contractors, professional trainers and well control specialists, around the world, WellCAP® certification provides assurance that well control training schools adhere to a core curriculum, accepted throughout the industry. Accreditation is achieved only after an extensive review of a provider's curriculum, testing practices, faculty, facilities, and administrative procedures. HSE RIG PASS® Accreditation: Developed by the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), this industry-standard safety orientation program prepares employees for safe activities on and around drilling rigs (onshore or offshore). RIG PASS® has been awarded to oil & gas companies worldwide from Europe to Australia, Canada and the United States. Maritime Drilling Schools Limited is the first institution in Canada to be awarded the RIG PASS® accreditation. The program was developed and is administered by the International Association of Drilling Contractors, a worldwide organization comprising of contractors, producers and service companies in the energy industry. A RIG PASS® card shows the bearer has completed RIG PASS® instruction, with offshore endorsement, as defined by the drilling industry’s leading safety and training professionals.
